Houston, TX – A person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a pedestrian accident in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on February 24 in the 8700 block of the Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road.

Police said a gray Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound on the exit ramp when it struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the moving lanes of traffic.

The pedestrian was killed in the accident. Her name has not been released.

No additional details were provided.

The police are investigating the accident.
